There’s a new blog in town and it’s in direct competition to Signals. Or is it?
In our information saturated world, there is a great deal of competition for your attention.
In 2015, Netflix users had streamed 42.5 billion hours of video and its users collectively spent 140 hours a day watching content from a library of 5,599 titles as of 2018, a drop from 2014 when it had 8,000 titles (source Netflix, uNoGS and Time, but found here). Four years later, those streaming numbers will have grown significantly. Think about your own viewing habits. Watching Netflix and chilling out is such an acknowledged pastime, it even has its own G rated and R rated slang. (Same term, different interpretations.)
Today, there are 750,000 podcasts and over 30 million episodes as of this month, being heard in 60 million American homes, according to Podcast Insights. Podcasting is 15 years old.
The first blog dates back to 1994, although it took three more years for the term “weblog” (and another two more years after that for “blog”) to be adopted (source Web Designer Depot). Hosting Tribunal claims there are 500 million blogs in 2019. “Their authors account for over 2 million blog posts daily.”
So, with all that competition out there – and I’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of options – why would CCRM, the publisher of Signals, introduce a second blog?
The CDMO Blog – CDMO stands for contract development manufacturing organization – is a unique offering in the blogsphere and cell and gene therapy manufacturing space. It is intended to fill a void by explaining products, processes, terms, technologies, techniques and much more related to developing and manufacturing cell and gene therapy products. At CCRM, we believe educating the global community is key to keep this industry thriving.
If you have a question about how CDMO’s operate, we’ll be answering it. Looking for savings in your cell and gene therapy manufacturing process? We will let you know. Unsure when to engage your regulator? We will resolve that query too. Want to know why we use bioreactors to scale cell and gene therapies? We’ve already answered that one. Curious to know what media to use in your development work? Read this.
A new CDMO blog will be published every month and you are invited to leave a comment or question at the end of any post.
The CDMO Blog will be very technical in nature and narrow in focus. Signals, as you already know, is very broad in its scope. CCRM is confident there’s room for both in your schedule. (You could always watch a little less Netflix!)
