Crystal Ruff is a Canadian regenerative neuroscience researcher who appears to have a fondness for stem cells, communicating science and London, England (not necessarily in that order). She studied at the undergraduate level at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, then went overseas to complete her PhD at University College London, then it was back to Canada for a post-doc fellowship in the lab of Michael Fehlings in Toronto and now she’s back in London studying for her MBA at the London Business School. Blimey!

In her free time (???), Dr. Ruff likes to demystify stem cell science for the public as you can see from this video. She can now add TEDx speaker to her portfolio with this talk about “Changing the future with stem cells” that begins with her provocative opening statement that “stem cells are the new Internet.”

For her next career challenge, I suggest she try science writing. I might know a blog willing to have her.
