“Biology is the only science in which multiplication is the same thing as division.”
“Q: What did the conservative biologist say? A: The only cleavage I want to see is at the cellular level.”
“Q: What did one cell say to his sister cell when she stepped on his toe? A. Mitosis”*
Hunh?
I’ve literally been scouring the Internet for several years now looking for stem cell humour that I can share on Fridays as a “Right Turn” post. Finally – finally! – I have found a stem cell biologist who does stand-up comedy, in the video below. (The jokes above were meant to get you in a laughing mood, before the featured act. Think of me as the poorly paid opener who gets you warmed up.)
The funny thing is, he does get laughs in his routine, but when he tries to explain what he does during his day job, and specifically how an induced pluripotent stem cell works, the laughs dry up. He should have stuck to the dating material. Ba Dum Tshh.
The title of the video is “Dave Christensen makes stem cells funny.” You can be the judge.
